ENGLAND V AUSTRALIA: THE ASHES AND ALL THAT
The Menzies Centre for Australian Studies, King's College London, and the International Centre for Sports History and Culture (ICSHC), De Montfort University, Leicester, will jointly host a special one day conference on the history of the sporting relationship between England and Australia on Saturday 28 October at the ICSHC, Leicester, from 10.30am to 5pm.
The conference, which is the sixth in the annual 'Historians on Sport' series and is held in association with BBC History Magazine, will mark the forthcoming Ashes series by looking at cricket in the context of the wider sporting relationships between England and Australia and their representation in the media. Speakers will include Prof. Carl Bridge, Menzies Centre, Prof. Mike Cronin, Boston College. Prof. Tony Collins, Leeds Metropolitan University, Prof. Graeme Davison, Monash University, Mr. David Frith, cricket historian, and Dr. Catherine Kevin, Menzies Centre.

The fee will be £20 including a buffet lunch (£10 for students). The conference will be held at De Montfort University, Leicester.
